Full Moon over Boone
The missus and I vacationed at the KOA in Boone, NC earlier this month. The NC mountains are a great place to be in the summer.
This photo is one of several I took of the full moon over the campground.
While we were camping (RVing in our 5th Wheel) there in Boone, we visited Grandfather Mountain, crossed the Mile High Swinging Bridge, tubed a couple of miles of the New River, visited Blowing Rock, and spent time in downtown Boone.
If we could, we would spend the whole summer there. Alas, our vacation ended and we returned to the NC Coastal Plains with its high temperatures and high humidity. The air gets so oppressive some days that I try to avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary.
Summer break is nearly over and teacher workdays begin soon. It's time for me to pull my educator hat out and prepare my mind and heart of another year of motivating and educating youngsters.
